A Culturally Responsive Approach to Sexual Violence Prevention & Response

A culturally responsive resource for organizations seeking to strengthen sexual violence prevention and response.

Addressing Gaps in
Traditional Sexual Violence Response

Common Institutional Applications

  • One-size-fits-all survivor response models fail to account for culture, race, and power.

  • Survivors of color experience unique barriers that institutions often overlook.

  • Policies alone do not create safety, trust, or access to support.

  • Cultural responsiveness must be built into programs, training, and decision-making.

  • Staff training

  • Professional development

  • Facilitated learning

  • Departmental reflection

  • Curriculum integration
