The Culture Residency

I support institutions through professional development, training, and systems-level consulting focused on culturally responsive responses to sexual violence.

How We Partner With You & Your Team:

Overview

The Culture Residency is a department-based, time-bound advisory engagement designed to strengthen how colleges and universities respond to sexual and gender-based violence. This residency focuses on assessing existing systems, identifying cultural and structural gaps, and supporting departments in redesigning their practices so survivors experience more holistic, culturally responsive, and effective support.

The residency is grounded in the understanding that survivors often navigate sexual and gender-based violence alongside other intersecting challenges, including housing instability, financial insecurity, academic precarity, and other forms of trauma. Departments need systems that are equipped to respond to the full reality of survivors’ lives, not just individual cases.

Who the Culture Residency Is For

The Culture Residency is designed for higher education departments such as:

  • Title IX Offices

  • Student Affairs

  • Equity, Inclusion, or Campus Safety Offices

  • Dean’s Offices or Student Support Units

  • Counseling, Health & Wellness, & Residence Life

  • Athletic Department

  • Departments engage directly and do not need institution-wide approval to participate.

The Purpose of the Residency

The Culture Residency helps departments:

  • Assess how survivors currently experience departmental systems and processes

  • Identify cultural blind spots and structural barriers that negatively impact survivor outcomes

  • Strengthen coordination, clarity, and responsiveness within survivor support systems

  • Redesign policies, workflows, and practices to better support survivors with complex needs

  • Move beyond compliance toward meaningful, survivor-centered outcomes
