Why This Matters

In a time when the rights, safety, and humanity of marginalized communities are being politicized and stripped away, What Works for Susan Won’t Work for Tameka is not just timely,  It’s essential.

For too long, systems designed to protect have instead silenced, excluded, or retraumatized survivors from communities of color. This book confronts that reality head-on and offers a new path forward one grounded in cultural humility, equity, and survivor-centered care.

Organizations and institutions can no longer afford to treat “diversity” as a checkbox. They must confront how bias, policy, and power shape every level of prevention and response.

Through unapologetic truth and practical frameworks, What Works for Susan Won’t Work for Tameka equips leaders, advocates, and educators to build programs that don’t just include marginalized voices but they are shaped by them.
